1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

ParishMart is a faith-based online marketplace that connects Catholic parishes, their local business supporters, and charitable causes in a single community storefront. Through ParishMart, visitors can browse and purchase religious goods and parish merchandise, give to parishes, causes and ministries, discover local businesses, and register for events.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website and any related pages, onboarding flows, and services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Platform”).

This policy does not cover the independent privacy practices of third parties we work with or link to, including parishes, sellers, sponsors, payment providers, or other websites. Their handling of your information is governed by their own policies.

2. The People Whose Information We Handle

• Shoppers and supporters — people who browse, buy products, or participate in giving opportunities.
• Account holders — people who create a customer account.
• Sellers, parish staff, cause organizers, and sponsors — people who register an organization, build a storefront, or manage a presence on the Platform.
• Visitors — people who browse without an account.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide to Us

• Account and contact details: name, email address, and (where applicable) phone number and password credentials.
• Onboarding and seller/organization details: business or organization name, description, category, contact information, physical address, website and social media links, founder/owner details, the parish or cause you support, discounts offered, product and service listings, and uploaded media (logos, banners, galleries, product images, videos).
• Order details: items purchased, quantities, and related transaction information. Note: ParishMart does not process giving directly. Giving links redirect you to the external platform of the relevant parish, ministry, or cause, whose own privacy policy governs any information you provide there.
• Communications: messages, support requests, and survey or form responses you send us.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, and general interaction data.
• Cookies and local storage: we use cookies and browser local storage to keep the Platform working, including remembering items in your shopping cart and your session. See Section 8 (Cookies and Tracking).

3.3 Payment Information

All checkout, payment, and customer account data (including payment card information and personal details entered at checkout) are collected and processed directly by Shopify, our commerce provider. ParishMart does not store, see, or have access to full payment card numbers or checkout-entered customer data. We may receive limited order confirmation data from Shopify (such as order status and a reference number) solely to operate the Platform.

3.4 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from the parishes, sellers, sponsors, or service providers we work with, and from our commerce and infrastructure providers, to operate the Platform.

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

• create and manage accounts and organization storefronts;
• process and fulfill orders and event registrations;
• operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform;
• display products, listings, causes, and community content;
• communicate with you about transactions, account activity, support, and (where permitted) updates and marketing;
• review and approve seller, cause, and sponsor registrations;
• prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as described here:

• With parishes, sellers, causes, and sponsors — as needed to complete a transaction (for example, an order routed to the seller who fulfills it). Note: ParishMart does not process giving. Giving links direct users to the external platforms of the relevant parish, ministry, or cause.
• With service providers and processors — who operate parts of the Platform on our behalf, including Shopify (our commerce provider, which handles all checkout, payment processing, and customer account data), cloud hosting and file storage (AWS), email delivery, and similar vendors. These providers may process information only to provide their services to us.
• For legal and safety reasons — where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of ParishMart, our users, or others.
• In a business transfer — such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary sense of exchanging it for money.

6. Giving

ParishMart does not collect, process, or handle giving directly. Where the Platform displays giving opportunities for parishes, ministries, or causes, clicking a giving link will redirect you to that organization’s own external giving platform. Any personal or payment information you provide during that process is governed solely by the third party’s privacy policy, not this one. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external platform before giving.

7. Sellers and Organizations

If you register an organization, certain information you provide (for example, business name, description, location, media, and listings) is published publicly on your Platform storefront. Do not submit information you do not want shown publicly. You are responsible for the accuracy of, and your rights to use, the content and media you upload.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and browser local storage to operate the Platform (for example, to maintain your session and remember your shopping cart). We may also use limited analytics to understand and improve usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Platform works.

9. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, complete transactions, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which we delete or de-identify it.

10. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls and use of reputable infrastructure and payment providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate information;
• delete your information;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• opt out of marketing communications (for example, via the unsubscribe link in our emails);
• where applicable, opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; and
• not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may link to or rely on third-party websites and services (including parish, seller, sponsor, payment, and external product pages). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

14. International Users

ParishMart is operated from the United States, Florida. If you access the Platform from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
